SPENDNOTE
Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how yehuanwei (“SpendNote,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the SpendNote app.
1. Scope and provider
This policy applies to the SpendNote iOS app and this website. The app is provided by yehuanwei. For privacy questions, contact airproductlab@gmail.com.
This policy does not govern Apple’s handling of information through the App Store, Apple ID, or payment services. Those services are governed by Apple’s own policies.
2. Our local-first design
SpendNote is designed to work without an account or a SpendNote backend. In the current version, your ledger data remains on your device. SpendNote does not transmit your ledger data to us, and we do not operate a service that receives or stores it.
SpendNote does not include advertising SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs. We do not sell your personal information, use it for cross-app advertising, or share it with data brokers.
This website is static: it does not use cookies, analytics, or tracking. When you visit this website or open a legal or support page from inside the app, iOS loads the same site from GitHub Pages. GitHub Pages may process standard connection information, such as your IP address, browser or user-agent information, requested URL, and request time, in server logs under the GitHub Privacy Statement. These requests do not include your ledger data. We do not add trackers to these pages or use this connection information for advertising or profiling.
3. Information stored on your device
To provide bookkeeping, budgeting, reminders, and personalization, the app stores the information you enter or choose locally on your device. This can include:
- transaction and recurring-bill details, such as amounts, dates, categories, titles, merchants, and notes;
- budget details, custom categories, region and currency selections;
- app preferences, including Face ID lock and reminder settings;
- locally generated CSV exports and backup archives while they are available to you; and
- a limited aggregate snapshot in the SpendNote App Group for the SpendNote widget.
We use this information only on your device to provide the app’s requested features. We do not have access to it.
4. Device features
- Face ID. If you enable Face ID lock, authentication is performed by iOS. SpendNote receives only the authentication result and never receives or stores your biometric template.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications, SpendNote schedules local budget alerts through iOS. You can change notification permission in iOS Settings and turn alerts off in the app.
- Widgets. The Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets read a local aggregate snapshot containing totals, budget status, currency, and related display state. They do not read transaction-level records, merchants, or notes.
5. Subscriptions and Apple
SpendNote Pro subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple through StoreKit and your Apple Account. The developer configures the available products, price tiers, and introductory offers in App Store Connect. Apple displays the applicable storefront price and handles billing, payment credentials, refunds, and subscription management. SpendNote checks the StoreKit entitlement associated with the subscription products to unlock or restore Pro features. We do not receive or store your payment-card number, billing address, or Apple Account identifier.
6. Exports, backups, and third-party services
CSV exports and backup files are created only when you choose to create them. If you use the iOS share sheet, Files, or another destination to save or send an export or backup, you direct the selected file to that destination. The recipient’s or destination provider’s handling of the file is governed by its own privacy practices.
Apple, GitHub, and destinations you choose operate under their own terms and privacy policies. When we engage a service provider to process personal information on our behalf, we require protections consistent with this policy and applicable law.
7. Retention and deletion
SpendNote retains your ledger data on your device until you delete it, restore another local backup over it, or remove the app in accordance with your device’s settings. In the app, Delete local data removes transactions, budgets, recurring bills, and custom categories, clears the widget ledger snapshot, and cancels queued budget reminders. Default categories may remain so the app can continue to function.
You control copies that you export or back up. Delete those copies from their chosen location or recipient service separately. Because we do not receive your ledger data, we cannot retrieve or delete it from your device or from a destination that you chose.
8. Your privacy choices and rights
You can control your data directly in the app: edit or delete entries, export CSV data, create or restore a local backup, turn reminders on or off, and disable Face ID lock. If applicable privacy law gives you additional rights, you may contact us using the details above. Our ability to act on a request is limited because we do not collect or retain your ledger data on our systems.
9. Children
SpendNote is not directed to children. Do not use the app where you are below the minimum age required to consent to data processing under applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us directly, contact us and we will address the request as required by applicable law.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app’s data practices or applicable requirements change. If a future release adds iCloud sync, accounts, analytics, advertising, a backend, or third-party SDKs that handle personal data, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures before enabling those practices. The “Last updated” date shows when this policy was most recently revised.
